Details
Description
The Partition Status in MXF can be Closed or Open and Complete or Incomplete. If a Partition Status is Open, the required metadata elements of this Partition's Header Metadata may be wrong. Also, required metadata elements must be set at least correctly in the Footer Partition, which must be Closed.
If a Partition Status is Incomplete, the best effort metadata elements of this Partition's Header Metadata are set to their Distinguished value.
Definition
Used in Checks, the system shall verify if the Partition Statuses indicated in the MXF wrapper for Header, Body and Footer match the expected values provided as input. Optionally the system may report the Partition Status values.

Used in Reports, the system shall read out and report the Partition Statuses indicated in the MXF wrapper.

This is a Readout-only Test.

This Test is about the Partition Status which is written in Byte 15 of the Partition Pack Key: Open and Incomplete (01h), Closed and Incomplete (02h), Open and Complete (03h), Closed and Complete (04h). Byte 14 signals the Partition: MXF Header Partition (02h), MXF Body Partition (03h), MXF Footer Partition (04h).

According to ST377-1, ch.6.2, Body partitions and Footer partition may be absent.

According to ST377-1, ch7.4.1, an MXF Footer Partition shall always be closed.
